Hawaii State Law requires drivers under 18 to complete a State Certified Driver's Education Course. This course will include 30 hours of the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA) approved curriculum and 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel instruction.
Eligibility Requirements for Teen Road Test:
- At least 16 years of age
- Has had the Driver's Permit for at least 6 months
- Has completed Driver's ED Course
- Has accumulated 50 hours of additional supervised driving
- Has completed 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction

Only virtual classes in February (Session #2) have been approved. Please complete payment at time of registration to ensure your seat for this class. For all other sessions, please read below. The registration process requires you to select the location you plan to take your road test.
Currently, the State of Hawaii has suspended all future virtual classes. We are hoping that approval will be granted to allow us to continue providing this service. You can help to ensure the continuity of virtual driver's education program by sharing your thoughts/concerns with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation by way of email at dot.hawaiidrivereducation@hawaii.gov.
No payment will be required at the time of registration for future virtual classes (Sessions #3 & #4). If you sign up for these classes, you will be put on a waitlist. Once we have approval to continue the virtual courses, you will be notified and full payment will be due upon notification.

The classroom curriculum must be completed before purchasing this package. The registration process requires you to select the location you plan to take your road test. On the registration page, please enter your Yellow Certificate Number for our records.
This package is intended to cover the behind-the-wheel driving lessons that the State of Hawaii requires. Behind-the-Wheel instruction covers all phases of driving and all forms of parking.
